This library is a big room where they have second-hand books that they sell for a very low price of $2 each. They have a sign that says your first book is free and every book after that is $2. Funky hole in the wall but nice because it's different. They have two small couches that you can sit on and read. When I first arrived there was two men with two small children and the children were looking at books and reading books. Stop in and make a donation.

As Gwendolyn Brooks put it in her 1949, Pullitzer Prize winning book of poetry, Annie Allen, they "smile upon me bigly" every time those who act as custodians for this great bookplace, Miami's best I can say without reservation, check out my "purchases". Whenever I enter, I make big finds for the store is so well curated, it's not a problem to direct myself to something life changing with minimal effort. What could make it even better is, uhh, giraffes? Giraffes!

Loved the atmosphere in here. The free bookstore is a huge draw for me! And I send all my books to them now instead of goodwill. Keep doing what your doing with friendly staff and books of all genres!

What a gem - must visit for all bookworms 📚 If you park out front on the street enter the space through the red building and go all the way to the back. They have a great collection! The books are free but you can bring along some books to donate, buy some merch, give monetary donations, etc. …

It took a little walking through the Bakehouse Art Complex, but it was worth it. Books on racks at the entrance, more inside, and at the register. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and steered me to at least one title I haven't read since junior high. A veritable candyshop for bookworms, bibliophiles, and bibliomaniacs. They accept donations; it's best to call at least a day ahead if making a large donation. You can also return a book and pick up a different one. Pure imagination, pure pleasure.

It’s an absolute must-visit if you want to experience a nonprofit initiative that’s truly making a difference in the community. I first came across it while Googling places to visit, and it completely caught me by surprise—in the best way possible. They recently started opening on Saturdays, which gave me the perfect chance to stop by, and I’m so glad I did. There are three main reasons why I highly recommend visiting this place—not just once, but every time you get the chance: 1. You can take books for free—Yes, really! No strings attached. Plus, they have cozy seating where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful reading session. 2. It’s a great way to support a community-driven initiative—Whether by simply visiting, donating books, or even volunteering, there are plenty of ways to get involved. 3. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the book selection is diverse—If you’ve been searching for a hard-to-find book, you might just get lucky here! They are also strong advocates against book banning, which makes the mission even more meaningful. Miami’s first and only free bookstore is definitely worth a visit—and a return trip (or several) after that😊
